Hello Hotline -
I just received a voicemail message from Jeffrey Hoch who is a
Visiting Professor in Biology this semester. He wants to use an
SGI in the lecture hall 56-114 next week (exact time unspecified)
and wants to know if we can provide one. I don't know if the
rolling SGI can hook up to the projector in that room, or whether
it's better to use the built-in LCD projector that comes with the
rolling workstation. You'd know better than I.
Hoch can be reached at his Lab off campus (497-4678) and his email
address is hoch@rowland.org.
The course if cross-listed as 7.71/5.64 and I think the class is
taught on Tues and Thurs from 11 - 12:15. I'm not sure whether
he needs the machine for one class or for both. I'm also not sure
whether he will need to install and run his own software or
whether he can use something that is already on Athena.
I'd like to step out of being the middle-man if direct contact
between you and Hoch would make things go quicker, but I will
continue to try to contact him until I know that you've been able
to reach him. Please let me know if and when I can step out of
the loop.
