Hey people,

Help ....!

Carlj@mit.edu emailed us this morning asking the following:

"I would like to re-install the latest Athnena software
on this workstation, Sparcsation 5, which was formerly
setup and maintained as a server in building W91.

   Thanks."

i responded with:

"Carl,

I stopped by there this morning, but unfortunately nobody was around. Could
you respond to Hotline and set-up a time for
us to come by. FYI: the install will wipe out everything on the local
drive. Let us know if this is OK with you."

carl comes back with:

"Thanks for the quick response, sorry I wasn't around. By the way, the door
to 14-010 is alarmed so you'll need one of us to let you in there. Best that
it's me.

How about tomorrow afternoon?

Being relatively new to Athena, I have a couple of questions as far as the
installation goes and saving some configuration data. For example, we have 6
external drives attached to bloom and the data on a couple of these disks is
important, so I'd want to make sure the vfstab gets backed up, right?

What about kerberos, would I need to request a new srvtab or can I just copy
this off?"

Could you please let me know what the procedure on this would be? I don't
want to screw it up.

thank you
barry
