Further ispection reveals that it is simply the very bottom plastic
piece of the adjustable-height mount that is broken, and that since
it's designed to be adjustable, it comes apart very simply.. It is
only this very bottom piece that is damaged, and the camera seems
usable without it.
In order to not lose the relevant pieces, I've placed them in the top
middle drawer of the desk under xcb, sipb's Ultra 10 (to your right as
you walk in the door).
