We have a private Athena station, some how someone changed the root
password and over time it was lost.

Is there a way to change the root password with out knowing the current
password?

Otherwise, I would like to reload the OS and start clean.

The machine is: romita.mit.edu

The machine is in 1-131, but this room is usually empty. You can contact me
in 1-245, x3-7657.
