On Saturday, September 12, the Kerberos administration daemon on the
master Kerberos server will be disabled for a period spanning
approximately 22:00 to 00:00 to allow for the changing of the
ticket-granting-ticket key. There may be a short period during this
time when ticket-granting-ticket keys may be out of sync between the
kerberos servers, and errors resulting from this effect may require
users to run the "renew" command to renew their tickets. This is rather
unlikely, though, and users should not notice any outage apart from the
inability to change passwords. Zephyr announcements will be sent in the
unlikely event that all then-logged-in users will need to renew their
tickets.

We will also be upgrading the softare on the master Kerberos server
tomorrow (Thursday) evening, sometime between 22:00 and 23:00. The
Kerberos administration daemon will be disable briefly for a minute or
two during this time; we do not expect any user-visible outages as a
result of this software upgrade.
