w20-575-50 thru 55 net err's
all these sparc systems are getting net err' s

it runs sloooooow. The net drops that they are
on are as follows:

Running watch-net does not show any obvious probs

Network buddies, please take a look on your end for

w20-575-57 uses the same drop, connection #1 and is not showing this error
message

John, please go ahead and report these drop problems directly
to the Transmission group. Cc network if you want to keep us
in the loop.

Subject: severe packet loss on some w20 machines
Date: Thu, 28 May 1998 02:28:56 EDT
From: Marc Horowitz <marc@MIT.EDU>

A user reported packet loss on w20-575-53. -53 and -54 both showed
severe (over 40%) packet loss to 18.187.0.1. These machines, -52 and
-55 all had le0: carrier lost syslogs in their console windows. I
wasn't able to easily tell if it was a host or network problem.

A couple of days ago, I complained that this group of computers, at
least w20-575-42 to w20-575-55, had a possible network problem which
slows applications such as netscape. The console reads repeatedly:

I showed up and found all the connections working properly. I asked the
people in SIPB if they could let me in the computer room and they all said
they couldn't help me, they didn't have the password.

Thats all for now folks.

Andrew
