OF COURSE.
Hi chris. The procedure to install an ultra 5 is special since the
ip address needs to be in hex, due to a prom problem with the ultra 5 and 10.
I can give you the directions for installing the olc machine in n42
its hostname is ferd. And i can also give you the general directions as
well. Let us know if you need anything else.
To generally install an ultra 5 you need to at the "ok" prompt type the
following
>boot net:12.56.0.12a,inetboot.sun4u,<ip address of host in HEX>
Then answer the standard questions as you would a normal sun install.
The 12.56.0.12a is the ip address of the install server sunburn.mit.edu
in hex, in case you were wondering.
And for the machine you are trying to do in n42, the following is what
you should type at the ok prompt
>boot net:12.56.0.12a,inetboot.sun4u,12.96.0.6e
that should do the right thing. Hopefully in the future, entering the info in
hex will no longer be necessary. Again let us know if you have problems.
