Drive 1 on Achilles looks like its in sorry shape. Its getting
progressively more errors, though they look like they are on one surface
(ie. a head crash is not far away!).
I am using Drive 1 (the RA82) on Helen as a staging area for doing the
file restoral work. At the moment it contains a copy of the latest tape
backup of Achilles' /mit (which was done early Monday morning) and I am
in the process of performing a dump of /u1 (also on Achilles drive 1) to
Helen's drive 1 as well.
When these backups are done, I will log a problem to hotline so DEC can
be called in tomorrow (Wednesday).
