Because this sounds more like a hardware problem, I have cc'ed this
email to hotline@mit.edu (I assume that they are the people who
reinstalled your workstation).  Hopefully they can figure out your
problem.  You might also try contacting them at x3-1410 (which will page
someone to look at your problem).
