Dear JJ,
Unfortunately this is no joke. The reason for this shutdown request is
that there is a cracked valve in the chilled water plant. The valve is
HUGE and needs to be replaced. It is not the sort of job where one just
turns off the valve with pliers - it will take a large piece of
equipment to come in to do this and replace it.
I spoke with Roger Moore about your concerns and time frames. We all
know about the holidays, but they are past and we don't have a choice.
And...this has to be done before warm weather sets in. The way our
winter is going it could be next week!
Could you please think about this and give us a better idea. Roger says
that the best time would be either the last week in February or the
first week in March. Or if you would like to speak with him directly,
please feel free to do so. His no. is 3-2347. Or better yet take a tour
of the chilled water plant. It is absolutely fascinating and HUGE!
One other thing I found out that this will not affect W20.
Thanks JJ. Have a great weekend!
Andrea
