Dear Hotline People:
We have in our office (3-472M) an old SparcClassic Athena workstation.
(pole-zero.mit.edu). Is this machine under an Athena service contract?
I ask because it is currently not booting properly.
It says it cannot load the keyboard info (and defaults to "USA keyboard").
Then it says it cannot create the files "/var/adm/utmp" or "/var/adm/utmpx"
and then it pretty much spews a few more error messages along the same
lines ("cannot create entry blah blah in file /var/adm/utmpx").
It then sits there doing nothing forever.
We'd like for it to boot up again. Any help you could give would be
greatly appreciated.
