Two problems:

(1) Chichon will not boot properly.

(2) Since both machines were installed about 6 weeks ago, 
    they lose their network connection two to three times
    per several-hour session for about five to ten minutes
    each.  Typical messages are like: "lost contact with
    afs volume server 18... in cell athena.mit.edu" or "all
    multi-homed ip addresses lost."

I'm sending this message from Jupiter in 54-311 cluster, and
it just lost its connection as well.  I had to re-initialize
and log back in.

Ack!  Please help, we can't get any work done.  Thanks,
