Hi
My old SPARCclassic was upgraded to a SPARC5 which is a good thing. The SPARC5 has two
problems though.
1. When I put a CD in it and try to use xmcd to play it, I get this error message:
NFS server for volume management (/vol) not responding still trying
and the xmcd window only paints itself halfway [just blocks of color with no detail] &c.
I get the same error message if I try and do something with the floppy drive.
Also, the audio out on the back of the SPARC5 doesn't work. The internal speaker works
fine, but when I plug something in to the jack on the back I get nothing even after I
change the output with soundtool.
I use linux regularly [don't hold it against me], so although Solaris is different, I am
not afraid of UNIX hardware configuration, so feel free to point me toward some
documentation.
And help or pointers would be appreciated.
