The ss4 w20-575-78 was showing signs of being badly broken
this morning. Notably, when the machine tried to boot, it would get an
"async memory fault" when trying to fsck the /usr partition,
/dev/dsk/c0t3d0s5. Going into single user mode I was unable to get the
machine into a usable state.
I tried both the 2.4 and 2.5 install on the machine, and both
failed by panicing at the "Configuring /dev" stage, very early on in
the boot process. My guess is that there is a problem with the memory
or system board (looking at [40704] in the hotline meeting shows that
the SIMM was replaced once before, so I'd be more suspicious of the
system board.)
