At 6am Sunday morning (10/19), the 4 database servers for the Athena
cell will be upgraded to run AFS version 3.4a. This upgrade will
occur concurrent to the usual weekly Sunday morning fileserver
restart.
If all goes well, there should be no additional downtime other than
the usual downtime from the Sunday morning restart. In that regard
this message should be thought of as a warning of a possible outage in
case the upgrade goes awry.
This upgrade is the first step toward upgrading all of the Athena cell
to using AFS 3.4a. There should be no visible changes in system
behavior resulting from Sunday's upgrade.
