Hi all,
At approx. 17:35 P.P. had paged me with an emergency page regarding
a major water leak that was reported coming from the 4-035 ceiling. P.P. and
I arrived at the scene within 5 minutes and started to evaluate the situation.
Water was coming from the ceiling, just in front of M4-035-1 & 2, via a
steady stream. Luckily, no hardware was in harms way at this point, but 30
minutes later would of been a different story.
The leak had originated from the lab, above the 4-035 cluster, on the
first floor. A cooling system drain hose had fallen out of its drain.
Problem has now been corrected in the lab, and Bldg services will be mopping
up the water in 4-035, and will be doing so throughout the evening due to
residual water problems. Brian had been notified of the situation, and was in
standy mode awaiting the evaluation of crisis. The "would be " crisis was
quickly contained with no furthur threat to safety of students, or hardware.
Due to the numerous amount of water floods from the above lab, P.P.
mechanics will be putting in a work order to the structural division to seal
the perimeter of this lab. This will greatly help reduce any futhur problems
of this nature.
