Thursday morning, 9/11, starting about 9:30am, the AFS cell
dev.mit.edu will undergo a software upgrade to AFS 3.4a. This
involves shutting down service to all lockers in the cell. The outage
is expected to last approximately 30 minutes. Machines using beta
release packs are likely to notice the outage. It is not likely that
the average user will experience problems since the lockers served by
the dev cell are mostly for Athena development support.
Progress notices will be sent to zephyr instance consult as well as to
class filsrv instance dev.mit.edu.
