Hi Dick,
Answered some of your questions. Gerry Elias is working on getting
the network stuff in. Don't know about holes in the tables,
didn't the architect and Dave Myers design that table? As far as
Cable-tv stuff goes, talked to Randy Winchester this afternoon he
was not aware of any cable-tv for Bldg. 2. He will speak to Gerry
Elias in the a.m.
So Randy would need more information. Gerry the catv is on the
AV drawing.
Gerry and Randy the classes start in these rooms next Wednesday.
Just want to be sure you are aware.
I did talk to his guy Dave and let him know we were working on the
network. He is here from 5:30am tol 8PM. see his schedule below.
He mentioned that the rooms are not ready to recieve computers
and that he would not deliver them, cuz the rooms are still
a mess, dust etc...
Brian the hostnames and IP addresses for the machines will be:
rm# hostname ip address
2-131 m2-131-1 18.21.0.20
2-132 m2-132-1 18.21.0.21
2-135 m2-135-1 18.21.0.22
Have not asked for hesiod information CUZ, do not know the type
of workstation you will be deploying. You can ask for them or
you can send me the information and I will. But we need to ask
for it soon.
If I missed something let me know. We have had a contractor
checking that area every day. We need clean rooms and safe
passagesto get into the rooms when carrying computer equipment.
Thanks, Jerry

Here are his responses, with questions for a variety of people at MIT.
>>
>> 2-132, 2-131, 2-135 systems will be 90% completed by mid day 8/27.
>> The equipment racks are tied together with the front wall or workstation

>>details.

>> VCR will live in the lockable door of the cabinet.
I couldn't remember is it will be on the tabletop or somewhere else.
>> Dave wanted to know when Floyd will have the room cleaned. He's
>> confident the AV equipment will tolerate the dust but not the workstations.
****** This is true!!!!
>>
>> He has not found any CATV cabling in any rooms. Who's pulling this
through to the equipment racks and the workstation tables?
>> Dave is working on Saturday of the long weekend but will be gone Sun.
and Mon. He's also having 2 staff come in at 3pm through this week to
work. We should try to have all the support work done for him to complete
his portion of the project. Probably the best thing is to have someone
from Floyd and MIT IS speak to Dave before Wednesday about what he needs
to finish his work. He's confident all rooms can be completed by 9/3 but
only if the above concerns are addressed.
>>
>> Dave's cell phone # is 908-0614.
>>
>> I'll be away the rest of the day 8/26 but will be back on the 27th.
