something wrong with m1-142-17

There's something wrong with the network interface, connection,
or something on m1-142-17. If I do a ping from m1-142-16, the
statistics on m1-142-17 are:
----m1-142-17.MIT.EDU PING Statistics----
35 packets transmitted, 27 packets received, 22% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 1/3/61 ms
Whereas, to m1-142-18, I get:
----m1-142-18.MIT.EDU PING Statistics----
28 packets transmitted, 28 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 1/4/44 ms
There should hardly be any packet loss between these my
machine and m1-142-17, especially with no one logged in
(like now!).
