Hi, we have a machine called sargent (18.58.0.103) in room 1-131. It
is an SGI R5000. It is running IRIX 6.2, not Athena. We do have a
hardware contract for it.
The problem with the machine is the network card is not working. I
have spent many hours trying to reconfigure the machine to get it to
work. Mike Drooker, the resident SGI expert from the Unix help desk
spent an hour and a half with me at the machine today verifying the
software configuration. Also, we swapped cables on the back of the
machine to see if the cable was working (it is).
All we could conclude is that the network hardware on the machine is
broken. Could you please swap out the ethernet card or system board
on the machine for us?
