We realize that yesterday was a disruptive day for many of you, with the
short notice and uncertain duration of the chilled water interruptions,
and regret the inconvenience.
Unfortunately, the contractors were not able to accomplish what they set
out to accomplish yesterday. They will need a 4-hour period of
interruption to complete that phase of their work. After consultation
with some of you, the time has been set as follows:
Midnight, Friday, March 28 to
4:00 AM, Saturday, March 29
At 4:00 AM, we will resume "abnormal opration". During the periiod of
"interruption", there will not be a complete system shutdown for all
users. However, we cannot be certain of system performance. In general,
the closer people are to Ames Street, the more chilled water they will
get. Those buildings nearest Mass. Ave. will not have any
chilled water circulation. As a guide, if you were OK on Wednesday, you
will most likely be OK during the interruption.
According to our latest notice, "abnormal operation" was scheduled to
end at 7:00 AM, Sunday, March 30. However, delays in the work will
necessitate an extension to the middle of next week. Tomorrow, we expect
to set that date.
If there are any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to call CArl
Hagge at 3-4755. For urgent matters, he can be reached through the
Operations Center at 3-1500.
