Unanticipated difficulties have necessitated the extention of the
scheduled duration of the preiod of abnormal operation of the Central
Chilled Water System to 7:00 AM, Tuesday, March 25. Please note that
chilled water temperatures are elevated in some areas, particularly
those nearest Mass. Avenue.

On Monday, March 17, Physical Plant will be adding a fifth chiller to
the Central Utilities Chiller Plant in order to permit PPL to carry
increased cooling loads and to improve the reliability of the system. In
order to complete the piping connections, it will be necessary to modify
normal operation of the Central Chilled water system for a four-day
period of time. The East Campus Plant, normally serving the area to the
East of Ames Street, will be fully operational. While this
interconnection is not capable of carrying normal summer loads, there is
more than adequate capacity for the winter loads.

If you have any concerns about this, please feel free to contact me at
8-7872 or Carl Hagge at 3-4755 or Roger Moore at 3-2347.

Thank you.
