The RS6000 has been dying as an athena platform for some time now.
The time has come to declare it to be dead. Sometime after Tuesday,
3/4/97 (but probably not much after that) we will remove those
machines dedicated to supporting athena RS6000s. The most observable
effects of this will be that it will no longer be possible to install
and athena RS6000, and that there will be no more than one copy of
RS6000 system packs (although there may be other effects). Basically,
the RS6000s will be completely unsupported (as opposed to the mostly
unsupported that they are now).
