There have been a few calls to 1410 from (Violeta) trying to get help/answers
of what to do, who to contact, who can steer me in the right dircetion etc..
regarding a sun system that is non-Athena related that uses CECI server. I
guess she has gotten quite the run-around. Violeta did mention that their was
also an Athena system at this location as well. Although this is not my
territory, I stepped in to see what I could do to get the fire lit on this
caper.
I had made a visit to CECI in E40 and spoke to Kirky Ringer, who was familiar
with the complaint, and we had put our thoughts & facts together. I had made a
visit to Violeta in 1-371, & had found that the problem was with another
system in 1-245, which was powered off. Fixing this system had restored 2
other systems in the 1-371 location. It appears that their is no cluster
manager or A.O. for this area, which has been operating in the past by grad
students. The history on this caper goes way back to the Project Athena days
and some systems that were using MUSE at the time. This also involves Prof.
Einstein, Steve Lerman etc...
I guess Violeta will eventualy be switching over to Athena once an A.O. is
located for the paper work etc..
Anyways, she asked for the names of my director/supervisor. I gave her
Rogers & Brians name. So, if you should be contacted by her, at least you
will know what it pertains too. Now that the ball is rolling, it is now out of
my hands.
