Can you lower a line to me - I have created a pool of problems!!
Lou cam by Tues - to reload the system on a Sparc4. Unfortunately, I gave him
incorrect info. - so that now not only does this machine not come up, but if it
is even powered on, the Sparc5 (sitting nearby) hangs. Yes - its an addrtess
problem, whih is compounded by a naming inconsistency,
Right now, the Sparc4 is turned off - the Sparc5 is very happy.
But - I'd like the following changes so that both systems will be working.
first) the SPARCstation 5 should be named M24-SPARC5-1
it is presently M24-SUN4 in the host table
address used is 18.54.0.56
second) the SPARCstation 4 should be named M24-SPARC4-1
it is presently M24-SPARC4-1 in the host table
address used is 18.54.0.54
I am using information stored in /mit/hosts/hosts
The incorrect information that I gave to Lou was - I told him the SPARC 4 that
he reloaded was at address 18,54.0.56 and that he should use the name
M24-SUN4. Well that name is already used by the SPARC 5 - (note that I want to
eliminate that name completely)
