Hi!

I am the HST Athena Cluster "manager." I was wondering how to modifiy a
couple of our athena machines for remote log-ins so that a few of our users
can check there mail from our offices at the Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary,
but restrict remote log-ins to general users.

Thank you,

Chris

Hi Chris,

I tried modifying a couple of the athena workstations (biopsy and
cardioid) the way we had modified the old ones to allow us to log onto
them remotely. I noticed that after the modifications, anyone (with
an athena account) could log on to them. I thought this was
undesireable and modified them back to their original configuration.

I was wondering if you could consult (or let me know who to contact)
an offical athena systems manager to see if we/they can officially
(and properly) configure the systems in E25 such that a few of us
working off campus can log into them remotely (but not allow anyone
with an athena account to log into them). We would like to do this to
avoid using the dog-slow athena-dialup to check mail and use the
library search facility when we are at Mass. Eye and Ear.

Please let me if I can contact someone at athena (and who I should
contact) or let me know what the best way to do this would be.

Thanks a lot!

-Martin
