As of about 15.30 Monday 6 January, Tubman, the SPARC4 in the ATIC
lab, is hanging in the middle of reboots. I have power cycled the
machine several times, and after each attempt at power cycling, the
machine either hangs or re-starts rebooting at some point during the
boot sequence. It does not lose at the same point each time; I saw it
re-start rebooting after finishing a traceroute and a different time
after indicaring SCSIbus error. But I cannot get to a login screen.
I have checked the RAM and done a read test on the disk; they both
came up fine. It is possible that the internal power supply or the
motherboard could be flaky. We would appreciate it if someone could
follow up on this problem.
