The following pertains to a requested emergency shutdown for Bldg.
E51-069 for tomorrow, 10/3/96. Would you please let me know if this is
all right (or perhaps advise me the contact name for this former
classroom now converted into an Athena cluster in E-51?)
Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you at your very earliest
convenience.

Building: E51-069
System: Sprinkler head
Date: 10/3/96
Day: Thursday
Time: 9:00 - 10:00 AM
Duration: 1 hour
Reason: Leaking sprinkler head - needs replacement
Effect: Loss of fire protection water for one hour.
It was insisted that this be issue be addressed at once instead of a day
later. The following is what happened:
The fitting that was installed above the sprinkler head was leaking,
and probably always had leaked since installation. There was apoxy
present at the point of leakage. When the main valve for the
sprinklers was turned back on, it malfunctioned, and needed to be
repaired as well. There is now 125 lbs back into the sprinkler
system, and no leaks were present. P.P. has found a ceiling tile
down the hall, and had cut the whole in it to accommodate the sprinkler
head in E51-075. Now all set.
