Hi.

I'm writing this to complain about the rudeness and inconsideration showed by
the staff member who responded to the message below, which I sent earlier today.
When the staff member showed up, he ignored a sign on M37-332-8, which stated
that the machine was running a simulation and asked that the machine be left
unless needed. The note also welcomed anyone who needed the machine to reboot
it if they wished to use it.

When the staff member arrived, rather than simply repace the missing mouse pad,
he rebooted the computer so that he could test the mouse, thus destroying
several hours of the other student's work. He also smelled like about 15
cigarettes.

Perhaps it is the standard procedure to reboot a computer in such a circumstance
when a student is not there and test something. However, when this costs a
student hours of work because he or she is away from the computer, this becomes
quite a costly policy. Reading the message below will reveal that there was no
problem with the computers, which were working fine, or with the mice, since
either mouse worked with the mousepad. The only problem was that a mousepad was
missing. There was no reason to reboot the workstation.

Please do not do that sort of thing again. The other student saved me a lot of
time by letting me use her mouse pad while she was away, and I am quite
disappointed that she will have to start her work over again.

Hey y'all.

this computer, M37-332-7, is missing the mouse platform--and it's one of the
light-sensor ones that won't work without one. I'm currently sharing it with
the kind graduate student next to me. However, this workstation will be
basically useless without a replacement after she's through. This one or else
M37-332-8 will, if I use it when she leaves.

Must have taken a really lame person to steal a mouse thing, eh? Whatever.

Take it easy.
