Hi, I called and left a phone message last Friday, just wanted to send this
via email to make sure someone gets it.
The Sparc Classic (slotine.mit.edu) in my Professor's office (3-449 x3-0490)
cannot reboot because it cannot find the kernel. In fact the whole
/kernel directory is empty. The reason I'm contacting you is because
another Sparc Classic in the Mech. Engr. cluster has the exact same
problem (the computer between bertie and harold I can't find out it's
name because it won't boot). I'm not sure what caused this, but since
it appears to not be a localized thing, I was hoping you might know the
cause/solution.
Also, the other Sparc Classic in the Mech. Engr. cluster also has problems.
It says "Badly formatted entry in /usr/tmp/attachtab" and will not attach
anything. Don't know the root password or who maintains the cluster.
If there is someone else I should contact please let me know. Also if there
is a simple boot disk which has the kernel and the kernel modules on it
that would be fine.
