I had just received a call from Jay, who works in the Barker Library
regarding a heavy smell of smoke around the Athena Terminals on the 5th floor.
I had responded immediately. There was a smell of electrical components
around the Athena VS2000's. There were no signs of deflection failures, and
I have carefuly listened to each monitor detecting nothing. Jay seemed a bit
nervous, so I had powered down the VS2000's at this location. They will be
powered up on Tuesday when the library reopens. Any border line hardware
failures will probably surface at this time and be reported.
