About two weeks ago, I noticed the print quality on this HP 4SImx was
not great, it had in about the middle 3 inches with a general smear
overlain by a repetition of the most recent printing at 3 3/4 inches.
The manual said the cure for this is 'replace cartridge'. It was at
about 10K pages, and so I figured I'd replace it for the start of the
term, and leave it till then.
But I just put in a new toner cratridge, and it's still having the
same problem. If I print a number of blank pages, it gets clear after
several pages, but the next page starts accumulating toner in the
middle 3 inches again.
