It can't start xlogin, and it says
"Missing or bad passwd entry for <root>"
When it first booted it said it need a passwd entry for nobody.
It got that way after I rebooted it after it wedged because I tried
to log in when it had already not started xlogin (which I see all the
time) but it wedged because apparently AFS wasn't working... Though I
can't say that explains what happened to the passwd file.
