Printer problems

The printers have not been telling users when they are not working, so
the print queues build up (and most people are not smart enough to remove
themselves so huge amounts of paper get wasted...).
For example, right now May 5 10 pm (has been such for at least 15 minutes)
zzz% lpq -Ppindar
PAPER-PUSHER.MIT.EDU... pindar is ready and printing
