Problems with Athena printers Bob and Plato in building 1

I just received a phone call from a faculty member and it looks like
there is some problem either with those printers or with the printer
server that manages them. If I do an lpstat on either of them I get
the following result:
athena[399]% lpstat -Pplato
UX:lpstat: ERROR: The LP print service isn't running or can't be
reached.
TO FIX: Your request can't be completely handled
without the LP print service. If this
problem continues, get help from your
system administrator.
Could somebody look into this?
