Cluster closings and server shutdowns during the first week of IAP.
1-142:	from Mon.   1/8  5PM until Tues.  1/9  8AM
4-035:	from Wed.   1/10 8PM until Thurs. 1/11 8AM
16-034:	from Thurs. 1/11 5PM until Fri.   1/12 8AM
e51-090 (formerly e51-007): Sat. 1/13 from 8AM until 1PM
38-370:	Sun. 1/14 from 9AM until 1PM

	between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM Tues. 1/9/96 (Mon. night)
Server Menelaus (discuss)

	between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM Thurs. 1/11/96 (Wed. night)

login, kinit, or renew, may be safely ignored.

There will be many Cluster closings and server shutdowns over IAP.
This is a list of the shutdowns scheduled for the second week of
winter break (Sat. 1/5/95 - Sun. 1/14/96).


1-142:	from Mon.   1/8  5PM until Tues.  1/9  8AM
4-035:	from Wed.   1/10 8PM until Thurs. 1/11 8AM
16-034:	from Thurs. 1/11 5PM until Fri.   1/12 8AM

These clusters will be closed for cleaning and preventative maintenance.

e51-090 (formerly e51-007): Sat. 1/13 from 8AM until 1PM
38-370:	Sun. 1/14 from 9AM until 1PM

These clusters will be closed for preventative maintenance.

These servers will be shutdown for a software upgrade.  It is not
expected that all of the servers will be down for the entire duration
of the shutdown, but any of them may be down at any point during the
specified time period.

While these machines are down all lockers on them will be unavailable.
To find out if a locker you use is affected:

		% add consult
		% lookup <lockername>
	Filesystem <lockername> (AFS) is located on:
	Server-name.MIT.EDU (read-write)


Server Menelaus (discuss)
	between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM Wed. 1/10/96 (Tues. night)

This servers will be shutdown for a software upgrade.  It is not
expected to be down for the entire duration of the shutdown, but it
may be.

While menelaus is down, service to all Athena centrally provided
discuss meetings will not be available.  This includes all meetings in
your .meetings file listed as being on either menelaus or zeus.


Servers Fennel, Thyme, Hockney
	between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM Thurs. 1/11/96 (Wed. night)

These servers will be shutdown for a software upgrade.  It is not
expected that all of the servers will be down for the entire duration
of the shutdown, but any of them may be down at any point during the
specified time period.

While these machines are down all lockers on them will be unavailable.
