Hi Iyad,
I talked with HP support and the indicated that the error message "79
service 8308" is a very broad error that could be software or hardware
related.
The printer may not understand the format of the particular job that has
been sent to it. This makes it rather difficult to pin down because it
means that individual users are sending jobs that stall the printer. This
seems consistant with the problems that we were experiencing in Bexley -
one users jobs would stall the printer. HP said it could be add-in fonts,
attempting to print to the unprintable area on the edge of the page,
incorrect/corrupted printer drivers or weird/large graphics.
As for hardware problems - If it having trouble with graphics it may be
related to the simms, either faulty or loose. The also said that a bad
formatter board could be the culprit if the problem is occuring on a daily
basis.
See if you can track it down to a particular user - if you have had a user
who has complained that they have never printed succesfully or have never
been able to print a particular job.
Also does the error always start with "79"?
