Hi Gilbert,
Yeah, the alias should work fine. I was able to use atalanta to ls a
directory in afs earlier today; can you be more specific about what is
broken? Note that this is not a supported service and has not been
for quite a while, so there isn't much we are going to do for it.
Also there has been a reasonably stable linux-afs package available
for quite a while now, so the translator is hardly "crucial".
