An SGI was installed in 9-514 today, (address 18.89.0.73).

To avoid problems, it had been pre-installed in W40 with software,
then the address changed.

When brought up in 9-514, it reported various errors

1. AFS: Lost contact with volume location server 18.80.0.2 in cell
Athena.mit.edu

2. /etc/athena/gettime: the Time Server Host time.mit.edu is unknown.

3. Warning: AFS Initialization did not complete correctly.

I checked with Ron, and he checked the router for that subnet. It did
not know about pepe.lepew (18.179.0.29).

Ron fixed the router, and we double-checked the SGI. It appears to be
doing fine now. We redid the installation to make sure that
everything is working.

The cluster maintainer also said they are hoping to have athenized
SGI's on subnet 18.38.

He also said that they have had trouble with their private SGIs--it
sounded as if they have systems on different subnets and try to get
them to talk bootp across the nets--I would guess the routers don't
know where to send their private subnets. He talked about moving the
SGIs, installing, then moving again. We might want to talk to them
about what they are trying to do.
