Athena Sun Workstation problem

Hi, my name is Vin Raju, and I am working for Professor Dubowsky
in a course 2 Mechanical Engineering Laboratory. We are having
problems with our Athena Sun Workstation. Apparently there is
some kind of afs problem. I tried rebooting it several times
and I tried running the reactivate program that the Athena help
line people told me to run. But nothing has been successful.
The workstation cannot access files in the afs or the etc directories.
And it cannot Xlogin. It would be great if you could help us out
somehow. The machine is in room 3-472m, it is called pole-zero.
