Patrick Purcell, long time Athena curriculum project designer at the Media
Lab (The Image Deliver System, galetea, etc) has recently returned to the
Visible Language Workshop at the Media-Lab and has called me concerned about
the Athena Visual Workstation he's using there and the lack of attention its
gotten from his requests to hotline..the monitor IBM 5981 is badly in need
of calibration..his UROP student has refused to work on it because of its
poor registration...if this has been looked at (and I think Brian M. said it
had) and can't be fixed then the monitor should go out for repair or be
swapped. Purcell is on campus for a couple of weeks and can be reached at
5-5105 or purcell@media-lab. Please let me know what happens with this
request. The machine is called 'driftwood' and is in room E15 448 at the
Visible Language Workshop in the Media Lab.
He also apologized for not knowing that "Brain doesn't do hardware anymore".
