The failure mode is common among DEC square mice: try to describe small
(one-inch) circles with the mouse.  It didn't work for me, and its feet
were clean, too.

In particular with this mouse, I was having trouble just using the mouse to
click off zephyrs, located all over my screen.

<shrug>  If JJ thinks its fixed, then maybe i was just having a bad mouse
day.  :)
