I've forgotten what I did, and I haven't had to reboot a 5000/120 since. I'm pretty sure the little square button is the key, and then I think I figured out what to type from the screen. I'd suggest you send someone to find one of these beasts and experiment, since there are a few left (and the older they get, the more likely it is that they'll hang/crash.) I would be happy to add information about the DEC 5000/120 unfortunately we do not have any with which to experiment.
