Partial SIPB service outage

Sunday, June 18, 1995, from 12:01am to 2:00am, there will be a short
outage of the following SIPB server machines in order to put them on
uninterruptable power supplies:
senator-bedfellow (alias news)
bloom-beacon (alias bloom-beacon)
penguin-lust
charon
Each individual machine will hopefully only be down for five to ten
minutes, but no guarantees. These outages will affect the following
services:
News service
SIPB-supported discuss meetings on charon, beacon, and bed
The usenet-addresses database
Since we will not be putting our Decstation Maxine servers on the
uninterruptable power supplies due to poor interactions between new
Maxines and the UPSs, there will also be a short outage of SIPB's AFS,
Discuss, RTFM, and IRC services during the power outage on the morning
of June 25.
