Voice Mail Outage

This morning there was a voice mail outage for approximately 2 hours.
The system was brought up at approximately 1:30 p.m. Everything seems
to be running smoothly.
For your information, if you ever run into the situation where you
receive the general system greeting from voice mail, ie. "Welcome to the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology...", you can access your messages
by pressing * your mailbox number and password. However, incoming
callers will not be able to leave a message once they've reached your
mailbox, they too will hear the general greeting and have no alternative
but to be transferred to an MIT Operator.
