Hello once again,
I am system manager for the EAPS cluster.
About a week and half ago, you re-installed the OS on
mercury.mit.edu because I (rather dumbly) deleted the
root entry from the password file. The machine is
running fine now but I can't log in as root because
I don't know what password was set. (This is an IBM
machine and seems to maintain the root password locally).
I was out-of-town which is why it has taken me a while
to get back to you.
