Hey rita --
the install disks worked nice, real nice!
the 70M disk of this workstation is now restored to life. I'll swap it back into
'gis' sometime real soon. Then it and 'richardson' will be their old selves once more.
Where did I get the working network card to make this happen? During the night someone
abused 'bullfinch', causing a head crash a mile long. I tried reformatting it and it
either failed-and-rebooted-unsuccessfully or some user rebooted the machine while it was
formatting, because when I came back, it was trying and failing to boot from the hard
disk, and of course my install floppies had stopped being useful....
So,
bullfinch has a bad network card in it *and* a probable unusable R40 disk.
Bullfinch is in the corner of 9-550 at the moment. Do you think we'll be able to get the
card and disk fixed?
