I am trying to set arcadia.mit.edu, a sparc5 in 33-407, up as an
NFS server. Everything appears to be set correctly, and when the UTP
cable is used directly, the NFS service works fine. However, when the
AUI cable from a dual box is used, any attempt to use NFS causes serious
problems. To see the problems, do the following:
In one window:
ping arcadia
In a second window
attach turb1
cp /mit/turb1/channel_data/u360.io /var/tmp
In most cases, as soon as the copy begins, all response to ping stops.
The copy fails with "RPC: timed out" error messages.
The machine appears to function normally in all other respects.
Any assistance in fixing this problem would be appreciated.
