There is a problem with the CD player of this Athena workstation which
I am using right now. This station name is eecs-ath-32 in room 36-640.
It's a Sun Sparcstation 5. When I plug in the headphone to the CD
player, there would be some hissing, static kind of noise all the
time, whether or not I am playing a disc. However, when I play an
audio disc, the music came out just fine, except that the static noise
is always present. This noise is not just the typical noise, like that
from a recording. It's much louder and very irregular.
The room 36-640 in which this terminal is located requires a special
password. You can just knock on the door.
