We need the color rt more than other other rts around here. So I'm going to try
swapping the baseband adapter from the machine I'm sitting at into 'gis' and see
if the install process completes nicely. If it does, I'll let you know the
serial number of the newly broken machine. PC Support hasn't been over yet to
pick it up and I doubt they care much which machine is really down. If you have
big objections to this, please yell at me soon...
As for olmsted, `finger @olmsted` says no one logged on, so I think whatever may
have been wrong with it is not now wrong....

Hi Rob,
I have a couple of reports of systems in your area being down,
(1 I can verify, but the other I need to check with you...)
Machine Name: gis
Location: 9-514
Problem: We tried to install software but were unable. Upon running
diags, a hardware problem was found. I will need to call
PC Support about this one.
(* this is a "legitimate" problem *)
Machine Name: olmsted
Location: 9-550
Problem: Reported to hotline with problems, yet it pings.
I notified PC Support to find out what was done to this system
since it was running and they said they never touched it.
They also reported that you have no problems with this system.
Could you let me know if this poor ol' machine is okay?
(it could have got mixed up in our HUGE pile of dead RTs!)
